Motorhome & Campervan Windscreens

Specialist glass service for motorhomes, campervans and coach-built leisure vehicles. At home, in storage, or at your holiday park.

Glass for the Open Road

Motorhomes, campervans and A-class leisure vehicles are long-term investments that deserve specialist care. Whether your pride and joy is stored at home, in a CaSSOA compound, or just back from a trip to the south coast with a new stone chip in the windscreen, AWG Windscreens brings the same OE-quality service we provide to cars and vans.

We cover all common base vehicles including Fiat Ducato (by far the most widespread in UK motorhomes), Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Relay, Mercedes Sprinter, VW Transporter and California, and Ford Transit. For coach-built A-class motorhomes from Hymer, Pilote, Rapido, Carthago and similar, we source specialist glass to the same standard.

Things Worth Knowing About Motorhome Glass

Why chips spread faster on motorhomes

Coach-built motorhomes experience more cab flex than a standard van or car because the rear habitation structure twists the chassis slightly when driving over uneven surfaces. This movement travels through the windscreen aperture and accelerates the spread of any existing chip.

For this reason we strongly recommend prompt chip repair on motorhomes. A chip that might sit stable in a car for a year can spread into a full crack on a motorhome within weeks, particularly after a long motorway trip or passage over rougher roads (the A17 and A47 being common culprits in East Anglia).

Ducato X290 ADAS

Modern Fiat Ducato motorhomes (X290, 2021 onwards) are fitted with camera-based ADAS including lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. A windscreen replacement on these requires ADAS recalibration to restore the systems to factory specification. The same applies to recent Mercedes Sprinter W907 bases.

We carry out both static and dynamic calibration on motorhomes at our Lenwade branch or on-site if there is sufficient level space — which many storage compounds conveniently provide.

Motorhome Windscreen FAQs

Do you replace motorhome windscreens on site?
Yes. Our mobile service comes to your home, storage yard, caravan club site, or holiday park across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and the Peterborough area. We bring the glass, adhesive and tools to complete the work on site, typically in 2–3 hours including cure time.
Which motorhome and campervan makes do you cover?
We cover all common motorhome and campervan base vehicles: Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Relay, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, VW Transporter and California, Ford Transit, Renault Master, Iveco Daily. We also work on coach-built conversions, A-class, and low-profile variants from Bailey, Swift, Auto-Trail, Elddis, Roller Team, Hymer, Pilote, Rapido, Carthago and many others.
Is motorhome windscreen replacement covered by leisure vehicle insurance?
Most comprehensive motorhome insurance policies include windscreen cover, similar to a standard motor policy. Excess typically ranges from £75 to £150 depending on the insurer. Chip repair is usually free with no excess. We handle claims directly with all major leisure vehicle insurers including Caravan Guard, Comfort Insurance, Adrian Flux, NFU Mutual and Aviva.
Can you replace a Fiat Ducato windscreen the same day?
Yes, in most cases. The Fiat Ducato is the most common motorhome base in the UK and we hold stock for it year-round. We can typically attend and fit the same day for Ducato-based motorhomes. Specialist or older glass variants may take 24–48 hours to source.
Do you work on A-class and coach-built motorhomes?
Yes. A-class motorhomes (where the cab and living area are a single coach-built structure) have specialist windscreens that differ from the base vehicle. We can source and fit A-class glass for Hymer, Pilote, Rapido, Carthago, Dethleffs and similar. These fittings typically take longer and glass may need to be ordered in.
My motorhome is stored in a compound far from home — can you still attend?
Yes. We attend storage compounds, CL and CS sites, holiday parks, and caravan club sites across our coverage area. Access needs to be arranged with the site — we will advise at booking. Our technicians are DBS-checked and have no issue with secure-site access procedures.
Can you do chip repair on a motorhome?
Yes. Chip repair is the same resin-injection process used on a car and works well on motorhome windscreens, which are typically standard laminated safety glass. Repair is much cheaper than replacement and, on insurance, usually free. Call us promptly — motorhome chips can spread quickly due to the greater cab flex of coach-built vehicles.
