Direct Line & AWG Windscreens
Direct Line has historically worked with their own preferred glass supplier but allows customers to use AWG Windscreens and similar independent repairers. We handle the authorisation call for you.
Direct Line typically uses a £115 glass excess on comprehensive policies. Churchill and Privilege (also Direct Line Group) operate the same way. Chip repair is free with no excess. If you are told by Direct Line that you must use a specific supplier, your policy normally still allows you to choose — we will help clarify.
Your Direct Line cover includes:
- Windscreen chip repair — typically free, zero excess
- Full windscreen replacement — typically £115 excess
- Rear and side glass — usually covered on the same policy
- ADAS camera recalibration where required
- No effect on your no-claims bonus
