Structural Safety Matters
Your windscreen is not just a piece of glass — it is an integral part of your vehicle's safety system. A correctly fitted windscreen:
- Provides up to 30% of the vehicle's structural rigidity
- Supports the roof in the event of a rollover
- Ensures passenger-side airbags deploy correctly
- Protects occupants from ejection in a collision
This is why it is essential to choose a qualified, experienced company for your windscreen replacement. Our technicians are fully trained and use only approved materials to guarantee your safety.
ADAS Recalibration
Many modern vehicles are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) — cameras and sensors mounted on or near the windscreen. After a windscreen replacement, these systems must be recalibrated to ensure they function correctly. AWG Windscreens provides full ADAS recalibration as part of our replacement service.

What to Expect on the Day
Our technician will arrive at your chosen location with your new windscreen and all necessary equipment. Here's what happens:
- The old windscreen is carefully removed using specialist cutting tools
- The frame is cleaned and inspected for corrosion or damage
- A new primer and adhesive are applied to ensure a perfect bond
- Your new OE-quality windscreen is precisely positioned and sealed
- If your vehicle has ADAS, the cameras are recalibrated to factory specs
- We clean up and remove all old glass — leaving your vehicle spotless
The adhesive needs time to cure before driving. We recommend allowing at least 1–2 hours, depending on conditions. We'll advise you on the exact safe-drive-away time.
Types of Windscreen Glass
We offer two options to suit your needs and budget:
- OE (Original Equipment) glass — manufactured to the exact specifications of your vehicle maker. Identical to the glass fitted on the production line. Our standard and recommended option.
- Aftermarket glass — meets all safety standards but may differ slightly in tint or thickness. A more affordable option for older vehicles or budget-conscious customers.
Both types meet British and European safety standards. Our technicians will advise which option is best for your vehicle.
